EARTH TECH WINS ENVIRONMENTAL CONTRACT TO SUPPORT TEXAS HIGHWAY PROJECT
Environmental Work Clears Way for Land Acquisition and Construction
LONG BEACH, Calif. May 12, 2008 – Earth Tech Inc., a global provider of consulting, engineering and construction services, has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract to provide environmental services to Central Texas Highway Constructors, LLC (CTxHC).
Earth Tech, the lead planning and engineering firm for Cintra Zachry, LP on the Trans-Texas Corridor 35 (TTC-35) project, was approved by CTxHC for environmental work on Segments 5 and 6 of the SH 130 highway project. The SH 130 project is the first facility to be developed under the TTC-35 Comprehensive Development Agreement. An integral part of the preparation for highway construction, the project includes site assessments, hazardous materials clean-ups, remediation, and other environmental services.
A private-public partnership, the SH 130 project is a 41-mile long highway east of IH 35 that will improve travel experiences for motorists tired of the ever increasing traffic congestion between Austin and San Antonio. The environmental work under the terms of this agreement is slated to last five years.
“The SH 130 project will benefit thousands of Texans in their daily lives,” stated Chuck McLendon, P.E., CIH, and Earth Tech Sr. Manager. “This project allows Earth Tech to leverage our core competencies in transportation and environmental services.”
